DVII

Dvii is a musician born in South Korea, and currently based in Toronto, Canada.

His passion for music was ignited when he picked up his first guitar as a child during his time in Boston. Afterwards, he moved to Seoul, where he spent most of his time writing his own music and honing his guitar skills.

Few years later, he moved to Toronto and began to post his guitar playing online. These videos went viral and exposed him to an audience for the first time. He created several bands in which he wrote/arranged and played guitar/sang lead vocals for, while working with a variety of producers and performing in venues within Ontario. He also became a multi-instrumentalist at this time.

He delved deeper into music education and expanded his knowledge of music theory/history, and learned to compose and orchestrate for different kinds of instruments/styles.

He spent his free time learning how to use a DAW and started to produce/mix digitally. His style became influenced by R&B, pop, and EDM - this was when he decided to release original music under the name ‘Dvii’.

For a short while, he put his solo project on hold, and started working as a producer, songwriter, and mixing/mastering engineer for local musicians. While doing this, he helped artists of many genres such as hip-hop, R&B, trap, pop, rock, punk, metal and more.

In the midst of the pandemic during 2021, he resumed his solo project and started writing original music once more. During this time, he went viral again on various social media platforms with various content. Through this, he gained a sizable following and continued his work as an artist.

As opportunities presented themselves, Dvii dedicated some time writing for the J-Pop/K-Pop industry, where he travelled frequently to Japan to closely work with others in this field.

With a new perspective on his music, Dvii is ready for another comeback.

Dvii is currently active as an artist, songwriter and producer.
